WESTERN NEW YORK CHAPTER HISTORY

Tamu Brown-Hutchinson

Tamu Brown-Hutchinson, Western New York Chapter President

The National Black MBA Association® prides itself as an organization that empowers visionaries. Where there is no vision, the people perish. As a cadre of trained business professionals, we must play a vital, substantive role in supporting local entrepreneurs, professional development, higher education, and guidance for our youth. Economic empowerment is as essential today as ever in ensuring a continued legacy of generational wealth. As we achieve new goals, we must never forget the vigilance and price paid by our predecessors that passed on savings, property, small businesses, education, ingenuity andour indomitable spirit.
Every year African-Americans lose millions of dollars in real estate simply by not paying their property taxes. From farmland, commercial property, multi-family units and their personal residences, the recession has accelerated the devastation. The WNY chapter should serve as a strategic resource to help people take advantage of wealth building strategies and protect these assets we’ve work so hard for. I look forward to serving this organization and our community.
