Leaders of Tomorrow®

HBCU

Scale-Up Pitch Challenge

For more than 50 years, the National Black MBA Association® has created opportunities for Black people. Our programs and initiatives – from Leaders of Tomorrow® to the Scale-Up Pitch Challenge – have set three generations of Black businessmen and women on the road to success. Our partnerships with HBCUs and scholarship programs have opened once-closed doors to young Black people. And our COVID-19 Relief Fund has supported members through today’s challenges. We did this – and more – all while advancing equality, fighting injustice and tearing down barriers to progress. And we’re not done yet. Help us build for tomorrow by making a donation on Giving Tuesday. Every contribution makes a difference. And every difference changes the world for another Black person.

Give Today to Empower Tomorrow's Visionaries

Giving Opportunities

The National Black MBA Association® promotes educational and economic growth for black professionals. Our member’s needs—and our desire to make resources available to them—are growing. By expanding our initiatives, we can reach more students and professionals. However, funding required to meet these needs has become increasingly limited.

Your gift, no matter the amount, will go a long way in helping us achieve our mission to serve black professionals.  We invite you to explore the amazing opportunities that the National Black MBA Association® offers and invest in our organization and its important role in sustaining black professionals’ access to educational and business resources.

NBMBAA® COVID-19 Relief Fund: Standing in the Gap

COVID-19 is having an unprecedented impact on life in America. Now more than ever, the National Black MBA Association® is standing in the gap to support those who have been severely and disproportionately affected by the disease and its wide-ranging repercussions.

The National Black MBA Association’s COVID-19 Relief Fund is rapidly deploying resources to students, members, businesses, and communities affected by the pandemic.

Grants are made on a rolling basis. As fundraising continues during the outbreak and recovery phases of the crisis, the Fund will adapt to emerging needs as the situation evolves.

The Fund will provide the following support:

Emergency student funding, including for basic needs, educational expenses, and technology requirements necessitated by virtual learning.

Certification funding to provide skill development for displaced members and students.

Small business support, including training and assistance in gaining access to funding and resources to aid business reopening, employment, and stabilization.

Funding for community-based organizations that face increasing demands in meeting basic human needs due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Our membership and the broader Black community have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.  The related economic collapse has left our already-at-risk student and professional population even more vulnerable. The Black business community, along with the economic activity and employment it generates, has been devastated.  NBMBAA® is activating its 40 chapter nationwide network and scaling its resources to help address these urgent challenges.

Bakari Henderson Memorial Scholarship

The NBMBAA® formed the Bakari Henderson Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor the memory of one of our former student members. This educational scholarship fund aims to motivate future leaders to take advantage of every educational opportunity that allows them the exposure of studying abroad. Lloyd Trotter Scholarship Fund

Lloyd Trotter was one of the key founders of General Electric’s first corporate affinity group, the African American Forum, and was the first African American officer at GE. Despite the demands of his successful career, Lloyd always found time to give back to the community and help minorities in GE by redirecting “people of color so they have a better shot at winning the game.” This scholarship was the brainchild of Mr. Trotter and the African American Forum of GE. For more than 15 years, current and former employees of GE have contributed to the scholarship. Like Lloyd and other GE employees, anyone that shares the same distinct values of integrity, hard work and community service are encouraged to contribute.
