NBMBAA® 43rd Annual Conference and Career Exposition
Digital Career Expo

The Basics

How do I access the Digital Career Expo?

This year’s platform is called Pathable. If you are registered for Live + Digital or Digital, you have already received a link to go in and set up your profile. You must set this up for access here.

I didn’t get an email to set up my password. How can I get in?

If you have already registered, check your email for the login prompt from events@nbmbaa.org. Please also check junk/spam folders. If after this, you cannot find it, visit the platform site and select support.

NOTE: This will delay your access time, so we do recommend searching your email thoroughly first.

How does this work? Is it like last year?

No, this year most booths will have a red Talk Now button that appears during the live expo hours. That button will connect you to open booth staff in a 1:1 video call via Zoom that is embedded directly into the platform. (No need to download or log in to Zoom.)

Booths still have a group chat, but only one. We recommend visiting the booth and exploring the details—description and any chat information.

Recruiters can pass you to others for follow-up or scheduling of direct private meetings, which are also via 1:1 Zoom.

How do private meetings work?

You must accept a private meeting for it to be scheduled. You’ll receive a pop-up notification in the top right. Keep an eye on requests and make sure you are accepting the ones you want.

Once scheduled, a private meeting will show on your Agenda. You will also get a notification via the alert pop-up when the meeting is about to start.

Can I schedule private meetings with recruiters?

Only if a recruiter suggests it. Recruiters will be outreaching to candidates.

Direct outreach to recruiters will likely not be responded to, so we recommend using the Talk Now feature as the best use of time.

How does the Direct Messaging work? Is it chat?

No. You have an inbox that gathers direct messages sent to you on the platform. These can be messages from recruiters, so we encourage you to monitor them. Highly recommend that you do not send direct messages to random recruiters unless responding to an outreach.

An exhibitor wasn’t available for Talk Now, what do I do?

If the booth staff is busy, you’ll see two options – send a direct message or schedule a private meeting. We recommend leaving a direct message, as most exhibitors have staff plans that do not allow them to accept private meetings in this way.

In your direct message, indicate interest and in the Notes field be sure to include that link to your online résumé and/or current LinkedIn profile.

What does the Leave a Card feature do?

You can drop your “business card” at the booth if Talk Now is busy or if it’s off-hours from the live expo. Your card will include the basic data from your profile. Recruiters may follow up these inquiries by sending a direct message or scheduling a private meeting.

Where do I upload my resumé?

You don’t. The best way to ensure recruiters can view your most up-to-date information—when setting up your profile, be sure to include a link to your current LinkedIn profile or to your current résumé (or both) in your description.

I was in Chicago. do I need to do this too?

We highly recommend that you do both expos. There are numerous companies that did not attend in Chicago who will be recruiting. And this will give you an opportunity to get to companies you may not have been able to see in person.

Registration

What is the difference between a Premium Pass and a Standard Pass?

Premium offers access to all the digital content on the platform, as well as the digital expo.

Standard offers access to the Expo and Meet the Experts content only.

I have Live + Digital registration. Do I have to register again for the digital event?

No. Live + Digital means you are automatically registered for the online version. See above for instructions on how to claim your invitation and set up a profile.
