A visionary leader with over 35 years of transformational experience, Don founded Cleveland Avenue in 2015 to invest in lifestyle consumer brands and high-growth companies. Previously, he served as President and CEO of McDonald’s Corporation, becoming one of the first African American CEOs of a Fortune 500 company. A Purdue-trained engineer, Don blends analytical rigor with customer-centric innovation. He and Liz also founded The CAFE Group, advancing educational equity for underrepresented communities. He serves on the boards of Royal Caribbean, Northern Trust, and Northwestern Memorial HealthCare and BIA (a Latin American food company) as well as several impactful civic and community organizations in Chicago.
