The New Orleans Chapter was founded in 1994 with members from industries including Finance and Investments, Information Technology, Sales and Marketing, Legal, Engineering, Manufacturing, Education and Oil and Gas with a large number of entrepreneurs and small businesses owners.
The mission of the New Orleans Chapter of the National Black MBA Association®, Inc. is to create educational opportunities, expand economic growth, and increase the number of African-American owned businesses.
The New Orleans Chapter of the National Black MBA Association® is also firmly committed to developing youth in our community through the Leaders of Tomorrow® (LOT) program as well as providing annual scholarships to local students.
New Orleans is one of the few cities with an independent undergraduate chapter at Southern University of New Orleans, (SUNO) a public HBCU.
While Hurricane Katrina devastated our region and our chapter, we were resilient enough to host National NBMBAA® Conference 2009 and again in 2016.
