South Florida Chapter History
The National Black MBA Association® – South Florida Chapter was founded in 1987 by five MBA employees of Ryder System® and Burger King Corporation® and now has grown to over 200 members. Our chapter consists of members from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties with professional experience acquired from both the public and private sectors.
Our Mission is to enhance the professional growth, competence and effectiveness of our members by:
- Establishing and maintaining an effective information and communication network which serves the membership.
- Generating professional exposure of the membership to the business community.
- Providing seminars and workshops for the membership.
- Assisting the entry of interested members into the business environment.
- Encouraging scholarly research in those areas of business which affect the African American community.
- Promoting the professional interests of current and future MBA’s throughout the South Florida area.
