NBMBAA® History

For 55 years, the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) has been more than a network – it’s been a lifeline forged from necessity in 1970. Born from the shared experiences and aspirations of pioneering Black professionals navigating a corporate landscape often devoid of representation, our initial bonds of connection and camaraderie ignited a movement. Today, that foundational spirit endures as a powerful legacy. Generation after generation of our members reach back, not just to uplift new talent, but to amplify our mission, empowering all underrepresented professionals to shatter barriers and redefine leadership. Our evolution reflects a steadfast commitment to creating a world where opportunity knows no color.

We have redefined our mission and vision to reflect our evolution and impact over the last 55 years.
