Tim joined Liberty Mutual in 1993 as Director of Corporate Strategy.  Over his 25-year career with the company, Tim has led distribution and product management in the small commercial insurance independent agency segment, overseen numerous successful insurance company acquisition and integration efforts, and led the distribution, marketing, digital and customer service organizations for Liberty’s U.S. personal lines business unit.

In January 2009, Tim was named President, U.S. Personal Insurance, and in February 2016 was appointed President, Global Consumer Markets.  In January 2018, Tim was named President, Global Retail Markets, adding Liberty’s $4 billion U.S. small commercial business to his responsibilities.  With more than $28 billion in annual personal lines, accident and health and commercial insurance revenue in 16 countries, Global Retail Markets is the sixth largest consumer and small business property and casualty insurer in the world, and accounts for more than 70% of Liberty Mutual’s worldwide revenue.

Tim serves on the board of directors of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, as well as the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. and the Mass General Hospital annual gala to benefit children and young adults on the autism spectrum.  Tim also serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable.  He is a prior director of Insurance.com in Cleveland, Ohio and of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in Washington, D.C.

Tim holds a BA in Economics from Harvard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.  He is a native of Lowell, Massachusetts and currently resides in the Boston area.
