Awah Teh is the CTO of Financial Services Data Strategy & Products (FSDSP). In this role, Awah is responsible for building the technology to support the FS Data Product strategy, making data easy to discover, manage, and leverage while powering the division’s AI ambitions. His work focuses on leveraging his extensive experience in data governance, architecture, and privacy to deliver exceptional technical results for FS.
Awah joined Financial Services Tech from Intelligent Foundations and Experience (IFX), where he served as the Chief Data Architect and Head of Privacy Engineering for eData. A seasoned technology executive and serial entrepreneur, Awah has a strong background in the FinTech, media, and healthcare technology spaces.
Prior to joining Capital One in 2022, he was the Global Chief Data Architect at Verizon Media Group (VMG). At VMG, he formulated a modernized data strategy to drive digital transformation for multi-exabyte data assets and established a data governance framework across all VMG brands. Additionally, Awah sits on the board of MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), where he oversees and influences the Future of Data Initiative and the Trace Data Sharing Protocol.
An outdoor and extreme sports enthusiast, Awah enjoys snowboarding, skateboarding, wakeboarding, and surfing. He also enjoys Afrobeats, traveling the world, and spending time with his partner, Kim, and their Hungarian Vizsla, Tiny.
