About International Paper
Purpose
NBMBAA® agrees to use International Paper’s gift of $5,000 to award five undergraduate student scholarships, valued at $1,000 each.
The recipients of this scholarship shall be students in good standing who meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate in good standing at a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) and pursuing a business-related degree or one from a Professional Sales Program.
- Be of freshman, sophomore or junior status with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
- Preference should be given to a student interested in a career in the Manufacturing industry.
- Preference should be given to members of underrepresented populations within the student body. If a qualified underrepresented student cannot be identified, the scholarship may be awarded to other eligible members of the student body.
- Recipients of the scholarship must be fully authorized to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment (eg. H-1B, E-1, J-1, F-1 or l-1).
- Have demonstrated leadership ability and community involvement.
Any scholarships will be awarded on a year-to-year basis. Students who are recipients one year are eligible for consideration in any other year; however, they must again comply with the selection criteria.
Recognition
In grateful recognition of International Paper’s generosity, any announcement in the appropriate media is subject to the approval of International Paper.
Administration
The five recipients of the scholarship will individually receive $1,000 in total. Funds will not be given directly to the recipients; rather, the NBMBAA® will distribute to those selected.
The purpose of this document is to provide direction to NBMBAA® on the use of donated scholarship funds.
A copy of this agreement will be placed in the permanent files of NBMBAA® and International Paper.
