NBMBAA Inaugural Education and Trade Mission to Ghana

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are the objectives of this trade mission?

We’ve combined business with education and cultural exchange, providing a diverse experience that will transform visions into international opportunities; and increasing mutual understanding between our delegation and the people of Accra by means of educational and cultural exchange that assist in the development of diplomatic business relations. The agenda is designed to match these objectives with business opportunities existing in the targeted market via the introduction to and one- on- one meetings with key industry decision-makers and well-placed government officials. This is a cost-effective opportunity to gain first-hand market information, save time and maximize your results!

What is the schedule?

The full tentative schedule is provided online. Please visit Itinerary.

If flying as a group, how do we ensure we’re on the same flight?

Please send an email to trademissions@nbmbaa.org indicating that everyone in your group has registered and would like to fly together. Please provide names of each delegate along with their confirmation number and we will ensure your group is on the same flights.

What if I am unable to get my yellow fever shot?

Yellow Fever shots are provided at the Accra Ghana International Airport upon entry. This shot will be good for 10 years.

How are the meetings organized?

Each day we will have business forums allowing the participants to hear the business needs of key elected officials and business leaders. There will be networking events each night for the delegates to engage with those leaders. The leaders have also set aside the full week to meet with our delegates. Delegates interested in scheduling specific meetings, please indicate this to the coordinators and they will be sure to set the meetings prior to the close of the trip.

Will I need an interpreter?

No. Ghana is an English speaking country.

How are airline and hotel reservations handled?

Airline tickets:  Upon the second deposit, airline tickets are purchased through Delta Airlines. The confirmation number is then forwarded to the registrant via email.

Hotels: Rooms are booked upon receipt of second deposit and reservation numbers sent upon receipt.  All participants will stay in the same hotel. Participants may be responsible for covering their own incidentals and will need to pay this to the hotel directly.

Can I upgrade my flight? And do I have to fly out of New York with the Group?

Once you receive your confirmation number, you will be able to call Delta directly and upgrade your flight. Delegates are responsible for covering the additional cost of any upgrades.

For logistics and budgeting purposes, we ask that all delegates fly out of New York.

Do I have to be a member to register?

The education and trade mission is for members only. On the registration section of the site, nonmembers will be prompted to become a member prior to registering for the trade mission.

Are deposits and payments refundable?

Deposits made are nonrefundable. We have the whole of Ghana awaiting our arrival, deposits ensure the number of participants we report is accurate and the host on ground can properly prepare to receive us.
